Israeli-Greek pianist Itamar Esformes, based in Los Angeles, is gaining recognition for his expressive depth, refined tone, and artistic versatility. Celebrated for his work both as a soloist and as a collaborative and chamber musician—with instrumentalists and vocalists alike—he has earned appreciation from colleagues and distinguished artists including Maestro James Conlon, Mrs. Frederica (Flicka) von Stade, and Prof. Kevin Murphy.
A prizewinner of the Buchman-Mehta School of Music Piano Concerto Competition and the Pnina Zaltzman National Piano Competition, Itamar has been honored with fellowships and awards from the Israeli-American Cultural Foundation, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Ronen Foundation. He has appeared as soloist with the Buchmann-Mehta Symphony Orchestra and the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and has performed across Israel, Europe, and the United States. Highlights include recitals at Harris Concert Hall and the Basalt Library in Aspen, his Master’s Graduation Recital in Tel Aviv, and appearances at major festivals such as Aspen, ISSA Academy (Austria), and Tel Hai International Piano Masterclasses (Israel). His performances have also been featured on Israeli National Radio.
Currently pursuing his Artist Diploma at The Colburn Conservatory under Prof. Fabio Bidini, Itamar previously earned his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees (Summa Cum Laude) from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. Drawing on his Israeli-Greek heritage, he brings warmth, depth, and individuality to his performances, guided by a belief in music’s power to connect and inspire.
